Galvanized Staples provide moderate rust protection, which is ideal for indoor furniture.
Buy Stainless Steel Staples for outdoor furniture, marine and automotive applications as the stainless steel is strong and rust resistant.
Crown Width is typically a question of ascetics, narrower staples are more easily hidden.
Staple wire thickness is measured in Gauge:
- Fine wire: 20-22 gauge is suitable for fastening upholstery fabric to furniture frames
- Medium wire: 18-19 gauge should be used with heavy upholstery fabric, panels, trim and profiles.
As a general guide, Leg Length should be at least 4 millimetres longer than the thickness of the material when fastening fabric and at least 3 times longer than the thickness of heavier materials such as cardboard, plastic, upholstery elastic and webbing.
We recommend using the 14 mm length leg with heavy fabrics, Upholstery Webbing Elastic, Jute and Poly Webbing and Cardboard Tack Strips.
